Greater Cincinnati Foundation Awards $165,743 in Learning Links Grants to 99 Regional Schools
CINCINNATI (August 25, 2021) — Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) awarded $165,743 in Learning Links grants to 99 schools this year thanks to generosity of GCF donors and the continuing support of the Charles H. Dater Foundation. The grants support creative projects envisioned by K-12 educators across our region and help students recover from the impact of remote learning.
Each organization received a grant of up to $1,250. The grants made an impact on 143 programs, including a variety of innovative projects focused on promoting diversity and engaging students and parents.
“Our schools are still recovering from the impact of COVID-19,” said Rosie Polter, GCF Program Officer. “In a world of uncertainty, especially for our education system, Learning Links continues to be a constant, dependable resource for our local teachers to bring joy to their students through fun, creative projects. We’re deepening our impact by investing more in individual projects.”
In 2020, 155 Learning Links projects were funded in schools across the eight-county region, totaling $137,262. The 29,000 children impacted were able to participate in creative, innovative programming including virtual STEM programs, Math and Literacy Take Home Kits, Mindful Music Moments and other enriching educational opportunities.
